The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: “On August 25, 2026, in the locality of Burj el-Barajneh, due to financial disputes, the person called R.M. (born in 2006, Lebanese) opened fire with a bomb-action rifle at his father, called A.M. (born in 1968, Lebanese). He was injured in the neck and head, and was subsequently transferred to a hospital to receive treatment. He soon died, and the shooter fled to the area. Anonymous. Following this, the specialized units in the Information Division began their field and information procedures at the crime scene and its surroundings, to work to determine the location of the shooter and arrest him. As a result of the surveys and investigations, one of the division’s patrols was able to locate his hiding place inside an apartment in a building in the Airport Road locality. Through careful monitoring and surveillance, the aforementioned apartment was raided and the shooter inside was arrested. When he was searched, he was found in possession of: A combat pistol and magazine with 10 usable cartridges and a cartridge inside the firing chamber. A black bomb-action rifle with red traces, and 10 usable bullets inside a bag. The detainee was handed over with the seized items to the relevant police station, to carry out the legal action against him, based on the reference of the competent judiciary.”
