The Lebanese artist Abdo Shaheen, one of the most prominent stars of the series “Al-Haiba,” experienced moments of tension and panic during a family party he held on the occasion of the birthday of his Syrian wife, Haya Youssef. During the ceremony, fireworks suddenly went off course, as the sparks went horizontally towards the invitees instead of rising to the sky, in an incident that caused a state of panic among those present. Video clips documented by the party guests showed the moment the guests were stampeding and a number of them were lying on the ground, trying to avoid the flames and sparks that were shooting towards them. After circulating the scenes on social media, Shaheen was keen to reassure his fans, confirming that no injuries had occurred despite the seriousness of the situation. Shaheen said, “The danger was very real,” stressing the need not to underestimate the dangers of fireworks, despite their connection to an atmosphere of joy and celebration. The Lebanese artist called for celebrating consciously and safely, stressing that safety is everyone's responsibility, especially when using fireworks and explosives, which may cause serious accidents if they are not used in accordance with the necessary safety procedures.
