President Joseph Aoun met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and discussed with her Lebanese-Italian relations and ways to develop them in all fields. President Aoun thanked President Meloni for the support that Italy provides to Lebanon at various levels, and discussed with her the general situation in Lebanon in general and in the south in particular in light of the continued Israeli attacks and the need to pressure Israel to commit to implementing the framework agreement that was reached in the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Washington. He also thanked her for hosting her country in the tripartite negotiations and for the Italian role in establishing security and stability in the south. The discussion touched on the stage after the end of the period of work of the international forces (UNIFIL) in Lebanon, and the discussion also dealt with the situation in the region. President Aoun met with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, and discussed with him Lebanese-Italian relations in addition to the situation in the region. The Lebanese Ambassador to Italy, Mrs. Carla Jazzar, participated in both meetings.
