The General Directorate of State Security - Department of Information, Guidance and Public Relations issued the following statement: “In continuation of its efforts to control violations related to the pricing of electric generators in all governorates, and after receiving several complaints from residents and the municipality of Hazmieh, against the backdrop of the breach by the so-called (D.S.) and his wife (N.K.) of their pledge to adhere to the official pricing issued by the Ministry of Energy and their failure to come to the Baabda Regional Office of the Mount Lebanon Directorate and based on the notification of the competent judiciary, a patrol went from the aforementioned office, where they were brought on 10/8/2026. A search of their house found narcotic substances, tools and supplies used in drug abuse, in addition to military weapons, ammunition, military equipment, four drones, binoculars, a central wireless device, surveillance cameras, iron handcuffs, and a sign belonging to the Hazmieh municipality. As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that there was an arrest warrant against (D.S.) for the crime of drug abuse, in addition to a summary of a ruling ordering his imprisonment for six months for the crime of treating security forces harshly. Based on the reference of the competent judiciary, they were arrested, the legal requirements were carried out against them, and they were deposited with the seized items. The competent judiciary was responsible for completing the investigation. The municipality of Hazmieh was also entrusted with supervising the work of its generators to ensure that the pricing was not violated.
