The Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Corporation announced that, “On August 19, 2026, while a construction workshop adjacent to the Corporation’s second station in the Sin El Fil area was carrying out excavation work, it caused severe damage to a water line (1200 mm) that feeds the Burj Abu Haidar reservoir.”
The Corporation indicated that it is “in the process of immediately starting the necessary repair work on this line, and that it will regrettably be forced to cut off water from the main Dbayeh pumping station, and thus from the following areas: the areas fed by the Burj Abu Haidar and Tallet El Khayat stations, the areas fed by the Antelias, Jal El Dib, Al Jadida, Zaarour and Dekwaneh stations, and the areas fed by the Hazmieh Reservoir.
She explained that she "will redistribute water according to the usual program as soon as the repair work is completed, which will continue day and night without interruption."
