Short text messages (SMS) are circulating allegedly issued by OMT Lebanon, informing citizens of the existence of a speeding violation and asking them to pay sums of money and enter a link bearing the name of OMT. OMT is keen to confirm that these messages and links are fake and misleading and are not issued by OMT, have no connection to it and are being used for fraudulent purposes. OMT warns citizens of these messages and asks them not to click on the link, not to circulate these messages, not to share any information or financial data, and to always check OMT’s official channels.
