The Jaafari Mufti, Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan, wrote to the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, in which he said that everything that is happening in the region is very dangerous, adding: “What concerns us from this angle is Lebanon,” noting that its history is greater than a political phase, a side commitment, or a regional boom. Qabalan called on Aoun to abandon the choices he made, noting that they conflict with national formation and unity. He continued: “No one fought for the Lebanese flag as the Amal Movement did historically and continues to do, and the sacrifices that Hezbollah later made in partnership with the Amal Movement to liberate Lebanon and defeat occupying Israel.” Sheikh Qabalan called on President Aoun to read the biography of former presidents and the events of the region and the world, because the circumstances of swallowing Lebanon previously had greater chances, and no country on this land was able to swallow it or ensure its swallowing. Qabalan concluded: “If there is a will for President Joseph Aoun, I would say: President Nabih Berri is a homeland that brings together all sects, a model resistance figure in the history of Lebanon, and a rare president of the most important representative institution in this country. The solution is with him, not with the outside, and the exclusive path for the Lebanese family is inside Lebanon, not with the Italians.”
