Today, Friday, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of two tankers belonging to the Emirati company ADNOC as they were crossing the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday evening. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed "the Kingdom's condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of targeting two tankers belonging to the Emirati company ADNOC while they were crossing the Strait of Hormuz, in an unacceptable repetition of Iranian attacks targeting ships and commercial tankers." The Kingdom affirmed that the repetition of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation, and to the security of global energy supplies, and constitutes a grave violation of international laws and norms, and a blatant challenge to Security Council Resolution No. (2817), which affirmed the necessity of respecting the rights and freedom of navigation of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, and condemned any measures or threats that would obstruct this, according to the Saudi News Agency (SPA). For its part, the State of Qatar strongly condemned the Iranian attack on two oil tankers belonging to ADNOC, as they were crossing the Strait of Hormuz, and considered it a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and freedom of maritime navigation, and a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution No. 2817, according to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the same context, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait's strong condemnation and denunciation of the sinful Iranian attack that targeted two tankers belonging to the Emirati company ADNOC as they were crossing the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that targeting commercial ships and international sea lanes constitutes a violation of international law and Security Council Resolution No. 2817, and puts the security of maritime navigation and the stability of energy supplies and international trade at risk. The Ministry stressed the need to stop all actions that would escalate tension in the region, respect freedom of navigation and safe transit in international corridors, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz completely and unconditionally.
