The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasser Al-Din, issued a decision requiring the treatment of those injured in the Beirut Port explosion at the expense of the Ministry of Public Health, with a coverage rate of 100 percent for all medical, surgical and hospital work related to the injury, regardless of their guarantor.
The decision requires all government hospitals to treat and hospitalize those injured in the explosion at the Ministry’s expense and with a full coverage rate. It also obliges private hospitals where those injured in the explosion are currently receiving treatment to continue their treatment at the Ministry’s expense and with a 100 percent coverage rate.
The decision called on private hospitals wishing to perform any operations or provide any medical follow-up that the wounded in the port may need at the Ministry’s expense, to inform the Ministry’s Medical Care Directorate of their desire within a period of one week from the date of issuance of the decision.
The decision confirmed that government and private hospitals are strictly prohibited from charging or charging the wounded for any financial differences, under any name, for the services and work covered.
He also asked any wounded person who did not receive the necessary treatment to contact the Medical Care Directorate in the main building of the Ministry of Public Health, to follow up on his condition and secure the required care.
