The Department of Information and Public Relations at the General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense announced in a statement, “Civil Defense members dealt with a fire that broke out in a gas transport tank in the city of Hermel, and while extinguishing operations were being carried out, the tank exploded.” The elements were able to isolate the fire site and take the necessary preventive measures, which prevented the damage from spreading to the vicinity of the site, and without recording injuries or additional damage. Civil defense teams continue operations to encircle and control the fire to completely extinguish it.”
