The distinguished Jaafari Mufti, Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan, considered that “what was agreed upon between the current authority of Lebanon and terrorist Israel under malicious American sponsorship is the worst national disaster to befall Lebanon, and has no legitimacy at all.” He said in a statement: “The current authority, with this framework, represents itself, not Lebanon. What is dangerous is that this framework gives the terrorist Zionist army effective guardianship over the work of the Lebanese army and the occupied Lebanese territory, in addition to the implicit acknowledgment of the authority of the Zionist army over the territories it occupies. What is happening behind the scenes in Washington is a catastrophe beyond which there will be a disaster, and we will not accept its passing on the ground. Whoever prevents the Lebanese army from defending Lebanon wants the Lebanese army to slaughter itself through this national disaster, and the current authority has put the Lebanese state in a black box.” The keys to Lebanon’s sovereignty were handed over to Washington and Tel Aviv, and this heinous characteristic will not pass, no matter what the cost.”
