The Secretary of Fatwa in Lebanon, Sheikh Amin al-Kurdi, confirmed in his Eid al-Fitr sermon from the Muhammad al-Amin Mosque that the Eid falls this year amid a painful scene as a result of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, and the resulting displacement of women, children, and the elderly, in addition to the destruction of villages and the extension of attacks to Beirut and its residents. Al-Kurdi pointed out that this stage calls for more solidarity among the Lebanese, with the need to close the doors of strife and thwart all attempts aimed at igniting internal division and returning the country to an atmosphere of fighting. He called for adherence to wisdom and a return to the state project, stressing the importance of dealing with the displaced as brothers in the homeland, away from political divisions, stressing at the same time the need for Lebanon to remain outside of any external axes. He also called for an end to the file of detained Islamists, calling on the concerned authorities to resolve this file and take the appropriate decision regarding it.
