Loyalty to the resistance: Insisting on direct negotiations is political suicide that will achieve nothing
Fady Mahouly
The Loyalty and Resistance Bloc saluted the position of the Islamic Republic in its missile response to the Zionist enemy’s targeting of the southern suburb of Beirut.
The bloc considered the response a victory for Lebanon's legitimate right to defend its land and sovereignty, stressing the extent of Iran's commitment to supporting the oppressed, and expressing its sincerity and loyalty to Lebanon, its people, and its resistance, which requires the political authority to restore and correct the relationship with Iran and to benefit from its regional role and employ it in the interest of our national constants and expel the enemy from our land that it occupies.
The bloc strongly condemned the US administration’s continued violation of international law and its aggression against Iran, its people and its state, and denounces the blackmailing and arrogant behavior practiced by that administration in its attempt to impose its guardianship on countries and peoples without any right or authorization from anyone in the world.
She said that the direct negotiations, in which the authority slid to bridge the gap of hostility to the Zionist entity, led to further internal division among the Lebanese, and were confirmed to be in violation of the Constitution, the National Accord Document, and the applicable laws, all of which prohibit any relationship or communication with the enemy. These are also what the authority must be careful to implement all of them, in defense of national constants and protection of sovereignty and independence. Insisting on pursuing this option constitutes foolish arrogance in which negotiations become gratuitous political suicide that will achieve nothing.
The bloc renewed its position by saying that the solution requires the authority to return from these nihilistic choices, and to move away from incitement and hate speech, and from antagonizing the majority of the people so that together we can preserve Lebanon, enhance national understanding and harmony at home, and achieve the aspirations of our people based on the agreed-upon national foundations and foundations that guarantee the stability of the country.
The bloc also condemned the recent round of direct negotiations, conducted by the Lebanese authorities with the occupying Zionist enemy, and renewed its rejection of all the unjust outcomes of the meeting that imposed unilateral obligations on Lebanon. The bloc also affirms its rejection of the conditions and dictates put forward by the enemy and adopted by the Lebanese negotiating delegation, despite the fact that the commitments do not contain any indication of what the enemy must adhere to in terms of stopping hostilities, withdrawal from our land, the return of the displaced, and reconstruction, which constitute national priorities and constants that the political authority should not ignore.
I strongly denounced what was stated by the US State Department before the Lebanese delegation to the rejected negotiations, that Hezbollah is a common enemy, without the Lebanese delegation objecting to it, or expressing any reservations about its anti-Lebanese words, which incite some of them against the others, in the service of the Zionist project, whose terrorism and aggression against Lebanon is sponsored by the criminal American administration.
