Aoun: We demand an end to the state of hostility with Israel... and we will not withdraw from the negotiations
Fady Mahouly
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun stressed that Lebanon's choice remains the state, as it is the guarantee that protects all Lebanese, stressing the necessity of consolidating the concept of the sovereign and decision-making state.
While receiving a delegation from the “Culture and Freedom” Foundation headed by former Minister Ibrahim Najjar, Aoun pointed out that public positions and responsibilities are not a privilege or a luxury, but rather a responsibility that requires the ability to make decisions and bear their consequences.
He pointed out that the pressures being exerted to withdraw from the negotiations will not change Lebanon's position, stressing the continuation of this path until results that are in the interest of the nation are reached.
Aoun stressed that ending the state of hostility with Israel requires achieving a set of basic points, most notably the Israeli withdrawal, stopping the attacks, the deployment of the Lebanese army, the return of the displaced, and the release of prisoners.
