The President of the Republic, Joe Aoun, received the Apostolic Ambassador to Lebanon, Monsignor Paolo Borgia, who briefed him on the tours he made to a number of villages and southern border towns in the districts of Marjayoun and Hasbaya, and the meetings he held with the steadfast people of these villages despite the repeated Israeli attacks. The papal ambassador conveyed to President Aoun the interest of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in the situation in Lebanon and his follow-up of the developments taking place on the Lebanese scene, in addition to the current regional situation. President Aoun thanked the papal ambassador for the visits he makes to the border villages and the aid he supervises distributing to the people of these villages. The President of the Republic asked the papal ambassador to thank Lebanon, the president and the people, for the positions taken by His Holiness the Pope towards Lebanon and the prayers he offers for the intention of the Lebanese people to end their suffering.
