Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi responded to President Joseph Aoun, saying that Tehran could have reached an agreement with America a long time ago if Lebanon had been a bargaining chip, adding: “He saved Lebanon from its real enemy, Israel.” He said: “According to Aoun’s statements, it appears that Iran is the one occupying a fifth of Lebanese territory and displacing a quarter of the population.”
