Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed that the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz was the result of what he described as illegal attacks by aggressors, pointing to Tehran’s adherence to diplomacy.
In a letter to Pope Leo
He also stressed in his message that “Iran remains committed to diplomacy and peaceful solutions,” pointing out that Tehran engaged fairly in the Islamabad negotiations with Pakistani mediation, he said.
The Iranian President praised the Pope's positions regarding the recent attacks on Iran, calling on the international community to adopt a realistic and just approach, and calling on countries of the world to confront American policies, which he described as illegal and adventurous.
It is noteworthy that the Pope criticized the actions of the United States in Iran several times, and described the American threats to the Iranian people as unacceptable.
