Sky News, citing Lebanese sources, reported that Lebanon will demand that Israel stop any strikes or military operations, and return to the “mechanisms” committee. The sources indicated that Beirut does not have sufficient guarantees from the Israeli side regarding the establishment of the ceasefire. She also pointed out that the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon remains conditional on withdrawing weapons. She added that Washington informed Lebanon that it was pressing to prevent the targeting of Beirut and the southern suburbs. According to the sources, Israel is committed to establishing a security buffer zone, and is considering expanding it to remove the threat of Hezbollah drones, so that its depth exceeds 10 kilometers in southern Lebanon.
