On April 24, 2026, information became available about the presence of a large quantity of Captagon pills hidden inside a vehicle in the locality of Baalbek. Immediately, a force from the Central Narcotics Control Office, with periodic support from the Zahle Regional Narcotics Control Office in the Judicial Police Unit, carried out a raid and raid on the aforementioned vehicle. Upon inspection, 17 large barrels containing 329 kg of Captagon pills were seized, equivalent to about 1,810,000 pills. Earlier, information was available to the aforementioned office about the presence of a quantity of Captagon pills and materials used in their manufacture, in addition to a machine for manufacturing Captagon, hidden inside a cave in one of the rugged areas in the northern Bekaa. Accordingly, a force from the aforementioned office, supported by a force from the Regional Narcotics Control Office in Zahle, raided the specified location, where they seized: -15 kg of Captagon pills (about 85 thousand pills) -700 kg of liquid formamide used in manufacturing Captagon pills -A kneading machine used in the manufacturing process The necessary legal requirements have been carried out under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and work continues to arrest all those involved.
