The Sharia Office of the “Foundation of the Allamah, the Reference, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah,” announced in a statement, “The first day of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah for the year 1447 AH is next Monday, May 18, based on the jurisprudential basis of His Eminence relying on accurate astronomical calculations with the possibility of sighting, and therefore the blessed Eid Al-Adha falls on Wednesday, May 27.” He said: “We ask God Almighty to bless the pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims and accept their deeds and to release us and grant victory to Islam and Muslims over the enemies of the nation and the enemies of humanity. He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.”
