The Association of Contracted Teachers in Public Basic Education in Lebanon announced, in a statement, that “tomorrow is a normal teaching day in public schools, as the contracted teachers, who constitute 80% of the basic educational staff, refuse to participate in the strike.” She stressed that “work tomorrow will be normal (in person and remotely), as contract professors will not adhere to the strike, just as they did not adhere to the strikes that took place during the past weeks.” The president of the association, Dr. Nisreen Shaheen, called on “the media to verify the credibility of the strike statements issued by the Landlord Teachers Association, as these statements do not reflect the reality of what is happening in schools, and this happens even in the same associations.”
