The French Ministry of National Education, in coordination with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, announced exceptional measures regarding the organization of exams in a number of countries in the Near and Middle East and Mali, in light of the security conditions and unrest that some of these countries are witnessing.
The list of concerned countries included: Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, in addition to Mali, where special arrangements will be adopted to ensure the continuity of the educational path and adapt exams to the current circumstances.
With regard to the Intermediate Education Certificate (DNB), the Ministry decided to cancel the final exams scheduled for the month of June, with students’ results being calculated according to their annual averages in the relevant subjects. The oral exam has also been canceled or neutralized, while liberal candidates are allowed to take a make-up course in September 2026.
As for the general and technological baccalaureate exams, the evaluation mechanisms have been modified so that annual averages are adopted instead of some tests, especially in French, mathematics, and specialization and philosophy subjects, in addition to exempting candidates from the oral exam.
The Ministry confirmed that if unsuitable conditions continue in some countries 15 days before the exam date, additional measures or new amendments may be taken according to the development of the situation in each country.
