Reuters reported, citing sources, that Washington and Tehran are close to reaching a limited and temporary agreement to stop the war, through a draft framework that is being negotiated.
According to the sources, the proposed framework will be implemented in three stages, including ending the war, addressing the Hormuz file, and opening a 30-day window to continue negotiations.
She pointed out that the plan is based on a short-term memorandum of understanding rather than a comprehensive peace agreement, which reflects the continuing differences between the two sides, pointing out that Tehran and Washington have lowered the ceiling of ambitions regarding a comprehensive settlement of the nuclear program and the fate of highly enriched uranium.
The sources also stated that the dispute still exists over the duration of the suspension of the Iranian nuclear program.
