After his meeting with the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, Minister of Administrative Development Fadi Makki stressed “the importance of internal cohesion and strengthening national unity at this delicate stage.” He stressed "the basic constants that Lebanon adheres to in any negotiations, foremost of which is the liberation of all Lebanese lands, the extension of state authority over them, the return of prisoners and displaced persons to their families, in addition to reconstruction." He stressed "the need to remain united, to stay away from any rhetoric that betrays or divides, and to stand by the state and the Lebanese army in a way that protects the country's stability and strengthens its steadfastness." The President of the Republic also presented with the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Karim Saeed, the latest developments related to banking reform laws, in addition to the conditions of monetary and economic stability in the country in light of the delicate circumstances and current challenges. The Governor of the Bank informed President Aoun of his upcoming visit to the United States of America, where he is scheduled to hold meetings with key officials in the International Monetary Fund and with officials in the United States concerned with monetary, financial, and treasury matters.
