NEWS LEB information reported that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam will hold talks on Saturday in Damascus with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, accompanied by a group of ministers.
The sources indicated that "the visit will discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries at all security, economic and commercial levels, and develop bilateral relations and outstanding files, provided that each minister will also discuss with his counterpart the relevant joint files."
She pointed out that "the visit comes as a continuation of a series of Syrian-Lebanese meetings within the framework of ongoing efforts to stabilize relations on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs. It also comes in light of developments that require coordination and communication, especially with regard to the importance of controlling borders and crossings and preventing smuggling, all the way to demarcating borders."
The sources also indicated that "the discussion will address developments in Lebanon and the region, the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Israel's continued occupation of areas in southern Lebanon, Lebanon's position on negotiating with Israel, and its constants at the level of implementing ministerial decisions, most notably the exclusivity of weapons in the hands of the state and the state's monopoly on the decision of war and peace, in addition to examining the pending judicial files and the file of the displaced Syrians."
