Israeli army spokeswoman Ella Wawiyeh announced that the Israeli army raided “yesterday (Wednesday) and eliminated the so-called Ahmed Ghaleb Ballout, the commander of the “Radwan Force” unit - the elite commando unit affiliated with Hezbollah - in the southern suburb of Beirut.”
She said: “Over the years, Ghaleb Ballout held a series of positions within the “Al-Radwan Force” unit, including the unit’s operations commander. Within the framework of his duties, he was responsible for the unit’s readiness and mobilization to fight against the forces of the Israeli army and the State of Israel.”
She added: “During the war and throughout the recent period in particular, Ghaleb Ballout directed the terrorists of the “Radwan Force” and led dozens of terrorist plots against the Israeli army forces in southern Lebanon, including launching anti-tank missiles and activating explosive devices.”
She continued: “Ghaleb Ballout also worked to advance efforts to restore the capabilities of the “Al-Radwan Force” unit, and in particular to activate the “Galilee Occupation Plan,” which the unit built and promoted over the years.”
Wawiyeh confirmed, “The Radwan Force unit operates with funding and direction from the Iranian terrorist regime with the aim of targeting Israeli army forces and citizens of the State of Israel.”
She also confirmed that the Israeli army "will continue to work against the threats directed at the citizens of the State of Israel and the Israeli army forces, and against the attempts of the "Radwan Force" unit to restore its capabilities and rebuild its strength again."
