At 02:52 am on Thursday, May 7, the National Center for Geophysics of the National Council for Scientific Research recorded an earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located in the Zahle region, according to what it said in an official statement. The center indicated that a number of citizens felt the tremor, especially in the areas of Zahle, the Central Bekaa and some neighboring villages, without any material or human damage recorded so far.
