Fayyad criticizes the performance of the authority: negligence without gains and a ceasefire first
Fady Mahouly
A member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, MP Dr. Ali Fayyad, confirmed that we do not want a clash with the authorities, and we do not want to take the country into an internal problem, knowing that there is another group hostile to the resistance, which does not mind and may even seek to drag the country into an internal problem under the title of disarmament, but with a realistic assessment, there is a path linked to the country’s identity, future, location and interests, which is being rushed on, without discussion or understanding on it nationally, and we do not want to deny that this path, Lebanon is being pushed towards it. It was marketed under pressure from Israeli fire and American threats disguised as advice.
Representative Fayyad’s words came during the honoring ceremony held by Hezbollah for a group of martyrs of the Islamic Resistance in the Third Sector who were martyred in the battle of the devastating storm in defense of Lebanon and its people, in Husseiniyat al-Barjawi in Bir Hassan, in the presence of a number of parliamentary, political, scientific, cultural, social, municipal and elective figures and figures, the families of the martyrs, and a crowd of people.
Representative Fayyad saw that the authority’s negotiating performance is problematic, weak, and confused, and is based on the logic of negligence without any compensation or gains. It also underestimates with unparalleled agility the risks, effects, and protection of interests. These observations are not only our observations, which fundamentally disagree with the authority. Rather, there are observations from Arab and European countries that embrace direct negotiations, but they object to the authority’s method of negotiating. They recorded basic critical observations and warned the authority of the consequences of what it did.
Representative Fayyad stressed that the priority now is a comprehensive ceasefire, which means stopping hostilities and systematic destruction operations, and that the ceasefire must constitute a concrete step in preparation for Israeli withdrawal, and the authority must respect the suffering of its people, and stipulate a ceasefire before moving to any other step, whatever its nature, including stopping what it calls preliminary meetings with the enemy, while stressing that we reject any direct contact with the enemy, whatever its nature and form, We call for replacing them with indirect negotiations, similar to what existed in the previous stage.
Representative Fayyad called on all the Lebanese to adhere to the two basic national goals, which are the liberation of the land and the unity of the Lebanese. These are two overlapping topics, neither of which should be neglected, and they must constitute the common ground on which everyone stands. We believe that thinking in this way and understanding the positions and efforts in this direction would help to confront pressures and confront risks in order to achieve the goals.
