The municipality of Jdeidet Marjayoun announced, “In clarification of the news circulating about the problem that occurred yesterday afternoon, Saturday, in Jdeidet Marjayoun Square, we are interested to confirm that the person concerned refused to comply with the instructions of the municipal policeman while carrying out his job duty in regulating traffic, as he was subjected to absolute threats and insults against the municipality, its people, and its town, which prompted the municipality to file a judicial complaint against him, and the matter is still in the custody of the judiciary.” She continued: "The measures taken by the new municipality of Marjayoun, with regard to the current situation, do not differ in any way from those taken by other municipalities in the districts of Marjayoun and Hasbaya, including the Arqoub area, in order to protect their people." The municipality called on everyone to be accurate in conveying news, to demonstrate the required awareness, and to cooperate with regard to the measures taken by it in these difficult and delicate circumstances, with the hope that this stage will end as quickly as possible.
