New US sanctions on Iran and a warning against imposing duties on the Strait of Hormuz

On Friday, the United States imposed new sanctions on 3 Iranian exchange companies, as part of Washington's targeting of Tehran's "financing sources" in the war.
The US Treasury Department warned, in a separate statement, of the consequences of paying “fees” to the Iranian government in exchange for ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that steps of this kind put those who take them under penalty of sanctions.
Iran submitted to the United States, via Pakistan, a new proposal to negotiate a final end to the war in the Middle East, according to what the official media in Tehran reported on Friday.
The official IRNA news agency reported: “The Islamic Republic of Iran presented its latest proposals for negotiations to Pakistan, as the mediator in the discussions with the United States, on Thursday night,” without additional details.
This comes as a source told Axios that US envoy Steve Witkoff sent amendments to the Iranian proposal that included the nuclear file in the agreement.
The source told Axios that America demanded that Iran not resume any nuclear activity before the end of the negotiations, and also demanded that Iran not transfer any enriched uranium while the negotiations continue.
Earlier, Axios reported that Iran had handed mediators in Pakistan a new proposal to present to Washington.
Before that, the American CNN network quoted Pakistani sources as saying that Iran may submit a revised peace proposal today, explaining that the mediators expect a new response after US President Donald Trump rejected the previous version.
The sources also indicated that there are indications of progress in negotiations despite the continued uncertainty.
