Public administration employees announce a strike and escalation: The government ignores our rights

The Public Administration Employees Association announced a strike on Wednesday and Thursday, May 6 and 7, with a complete cessation of work, in addition to moving in front of the Ministry of Social Affairs on May 13, in protest against what it described as “the government’s continued disregard for employees’ rights and the erosion of their salaries.”
The association considered in a statement that the state “deals with public administration employees as if they were beggars in need of charity,” noting that “the public administration is the one that collects the money, and it is the one that manages the displacement crisis through the relevant ministries.”
She pointed out that "the promised increases that have not yet been paid do not exceed about $150 for most employees, and they have lost a large part of their value due to inflation," considering that "the government did not take any serious steps to do justice to them, and was content with promises that had no effect on the ground."
The association confirmed that it is continuing its escalatory steps “until serious and concrete measures are taken from the government,” calling on employees to adhere to the strike and future movements, stressing that “obtaining rights can only be achieved through pressure and struggle.”
