An explosion occurred today, Friday, in the Sayyida Zeinab area in the Damascus countryside, caused by a hand grenade, and the damage was limited to material damage, according to what a security source told SANA. The source explained that the Ministry of Interior is following up on the circumstances of the explosion, and that the security forces have strengthened their deployment at the site of the accident to prevent citizens from approaching, while the specialized teams began their work immediately to uncover the circumstances of the explosion. The source indicated that investigations had begun to determine the identity of the suspect who threw the bomb. According to information, Mr. Farhan Mansour, a member of the Shiite scholarly body and a preacher at the shrine of Sayyida Zainab, was martyred as a result of the assassination.
