Khamenei: America's defeat and the beginning of a new phase... and the rules of the Strait of Hormuz will bring prosperity
Fady Mahouly
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei, pointed out that “one of the unique blessings that God Almighty has bestowed on the Muslim peoples in our region, especially the dear Iranian people, is the blessing of the Persian Gulf.” It is a blessing that goes beyond being just a water area, as it has formed part of our identity and civilization, and in addition to being a point of contact between peoples, it constitutes a vital and exceptional route for the global economy across the Strait. Hormuz and then the Sea of Oman. He pointed out that “this strategic wealth has aroused the greed of many evil forces over the centuries, and the history of repeated attacks by European and American powers, and the resulting instability, damage and multiple threats to the countries of the region, was just an aspect of the malicious plans of the arrogant people against the peoples of the Persian Gulf, the most recent of which was the recent practices of American arrogance.”
Khamenei stressed, “The Iranian people, who have the largest coastal extension on the Persian Gulf, have made the greatest sacrifices for their independence and confronting foreigners and aggressors. From the expulsion of the Portuguese and the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz, according to which May 10 was named as the National Day of the Persian Gulf, to the resistance to Dutch colonialism and then the heroism in the face of British colonialism. The Islamic Revolution was a major turning point in this resistance, as the influence of the arrogant powers in the region was reduced. Today, two months after the largest military movement and aggression by the arrogant forces in the region and America’s shameful defeat, a new phase is forming for the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.”
He stressed that "the peoples of the region, who have been accustomed for many years to the silence and submission of the rulers before the aggressors, have witnessed during the past sixty days the manifestations of toughness, vigilance and jihad on the part of the heroes of the naval forces in the army and the Revolutionary Guard, in addition to the courage of the people and youth in southern Iran in rejecting foreign hegemony."
He stressed, "Thanks to God Almighty and the blessing of the blood of the martyrs of the third imposed war, especially the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, it has become clear not only to global public opinion and the peoples of the region, but even to the rulers, that the American presence in the Persian Gulf is the primary factor for instability, and that its bases do not even have the ability to secure themselves, so how can they secure others?"
Khamenei stressed that “the future of the Persian Gulf will be free of the American presence, and will serve the progress, well-being and comfort of its people.” We and our neighbors in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman have “one fate,” and those who come from thousands of kilometers away and stir up chaos and evil have no place in it, except in the depths of its waters. This series of victories achieved, thanks to God, under the policies of resistance, will constitute the beginning of a new regional and international order.”
He stressed that "the miraculous renaissance of the Iranian people is no longer limited to tens of millions of mujahideen against Zionism and America. Rather, the entire Iranian people inside and outside the country consider all their identity, scientific, industrial and technological capabilities, from nano and biological to nuclear and missiles, to be a national wealth that must be protected."
He stressed that “Islamic Iran, by practically thanking it for this blessing of managing the Strait of Hormuz, will make the Persian Gulf region safer, and will prevent enemies from exploiting this waterway.” The new rules for managing the Strait of Hormuz will bring prosperity and progress to all the peoples of the region, and will achieve economic gains that will make the peoples happy.”
