The Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, received at Dar Al Fatwa the Minister of Defense, Michel Mansi, who said after the meeting: “I was honored by the visit of His Eminence, the Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Dr. Abdel Latif Derian, to express respect for the status of this house, the House of Fatwa and Piety, and the values ​​of patriotism, Arabism, authenticity, and commitment it represents throughout history and in critical eras.” Mansi stressed that "Beirut, which embraces this home full of character, honesty and dignity, is the city of national unity, one people and one army. It is the city of security, safety and faith in its mosques and churches, in its minarets and bells, in its tolerance and joy." He added: “I listened from His Eminence to what was on my mind, from the preoccupation with dangers, to the valid and sincere fears and concerns, and His Eminence spoke in the language of the official, the concern of the father, and the concerned concern for the stability of the nation, the prosperity of its capital, and the safety of its people and residents. Mansi stressed before His Eminence the continuation of the measures taken by the Lebanese Army leadership in implementation of the Council of Ministers’ decision to strengthen its presence in the capital, confine weapons to the legitimate forces, establish security in Beirut, help the displaced people of the country, enable them to face the difficulties of this stage, and work to alleviate their suffering.
