Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee announced, “A short while ago, and in full coordination with the people of Dibal village in southern Lebanon, an Israeli army force erected a new statue in place of the damaged statue. The Northern Command worked to coordinate the replacement of the statue from the moment it received the report about the incident.”
He added: "The Israeli army once again expresses its regret and is working to prevent this from happening again in the future."
