Al-Hadath, citing Lebanese diplomatic sources, indicated that the agreement to neutralize the capital, Beirut, and its southern suburbs is still in effect, within the framework of the ongoing understandings. The sources added that there is internal reliance on the role of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, to prevent the use of the street and avoid any internal field escalation. In the same context, she indicated that the date for negotiations with Israel has not yet been set, while Lebanon has not obtained what it was demanding regarding a ceasefire.
