US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that "everyone is tired of the current situation," noting that Iran "wants peace to be achieved" after a period of escalation.
Trump explained in a post on his account on “Truth Social” that the United States will help deal with “navigation congestion” in the Strait of Hormuz, referring to moves aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of traffic in one of the most important sea lanes in the world.
He added that the next stage may witness "many positive measures," anticipating economic gains, and stressing that Iran could begin the "reconstruction process."
Trump pointed out that the United States will work to secure supplies and monitor the situation “to make sure that everything is going well,” considering that what is happening may pave the way for a “golden age in the Middle East.”
Trump concluded by saying that what is happening may pave the way for a "golden age in the Middle East."
Trump confirmed in a call with Agence France-Presse that the United States achieved a “complete and comprehensive victory” after reaching a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran, adding: “It is a complete and comprehensive victory, 100 percent, there is no doubt about that.”
He indicated that the issue of Iranian uranium would be dealt with “to the fullest extent” after reaching the agreement, pointing out his belief that China had pushed Iran to negotiate a ceasefire in the war with Israel and the United States.
Trump also announced his agreement to stop bombing and launching attacks on Iran for two weeks, explaining in a post on “Truth Social” that his decision came based on conversations he held with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Commander Asim Munir, who asked him not to use “destructive force” in Iran.
He added that this comes on the condition that Iran agrees to “the complete, immediate and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz,” confirming his agreement to suspend the bombing and attack for two weeks.
