In her speech from the government palace, Minister of Education and Higher Education Rima Karami saluted “the schools that opened their doors as shelter centers for displaced families during the war,” and said: “We had to develop a flexible and realistic educational plan that balances the safety of students and teachers on the one hand and the right of every student to continue learning.” She stressed that "there will be a special follow-up on the situation of schools and institutions that were closed due to war and displacement. In this case, the start of education will be postponed and all principals will be contacted to draw up the next steps. We are committed to compensating all students for the lessons they missed."
