Donald Trump noted that Iran has agreed to allow 20 oil ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz starting Monday morning for several days, as a “gesture of respect.”
He said yesterday, Sunday: “I can only say that we are doing a very good job in these negotiations, but you cannot know (the outcome) with Iran because we are negotiating with them and at the same time we are always forced to bomb them.”
When asked if Iran had answered the 15-point ceasefire plan proposed by the United States, Trump said it had, adding, "They agreed on most of the points, so why wouldn't they?"
He pointed out that Tehran is making major concessions, explaining that "they agree with us on the plan, and the war in Iran may soon be stopped."
Trump added that the new Iranian leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, “may be alive, but it is clear that he is in great trouble, as he has been seriously injured,” according to what the German news agency reported.
Trump pointed out that the US military "eliminated and destroyed many of the Iranian targets that we have sought for a long time."
He stressed that the Iranians strongly desire to reach an agreement.
Trump said in an interview with Israeli Channel 14: “The Iranians very much want to reach an agreement and are even begging for it.”
He stressed that the United States is "already working to control the Strait of Hormuz."
In response to a question about the level of coordination with Benjamin Netanyahu, he explained that relations are at their peak, stressing that “coordination is very close, our relationship is good, and it cannot be better than that.”
