At the beginning of the Cabinet session, President Joseph Aoun praised the efforts made by the ministers to carry out their work, despite the difficulties facing the country as a whole, and the importance of focusing on the positives instead of promoting the negatives as some unfortunately try to do.
He said: Regarding the issue of apples, we must note the important role played by the Minister of Agriculture and his follow-up of the issue. I also thank Mr. Rudolph Saadeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CMA CGM, who provided remarkable assistance by reducing the cost of shipping to farmers.
President Aoun added: I visited the Artificial Intelligence Exhibition, and I must extend my congratulations to Minister Kamal Shehadeh, and I invite everyone to visit this exhibition and see that the generation participating in it is Lebanon’s future. The House of Representatives must also work quickly to approve the law establishing the “Ministry of Artificial Intelligence,” because we are far behind other countries, knowing that we are major contributors to the development of this field outside Lebanon, while there are those who say that we are “unqualified” to keep pace with this development, and this is not true, as there are more than 27% of the Lebanese who use artificial intelligence.
I also extend my congratulations to Minister Fayez Rasamny on the issue of the port of Tripoli and the port of Beirut officially joining the “India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor Ports Club” (IMEC), a great achievement that did not get its due in the media, and was even questioned.
We must also praise the development witnessed by Rafic Hariri Airport and the organization that facilitated the conditions of passengers.
The President of the Republic continued: Minister Rakan Nasser Al-Din deserves congratulations on the process of reorganizing the ministry’s structure, which is a type of reform. He said: If congratulations are given to some ministers, this does not mean that others are not working, but there are some aspects that are distinguished from others, but the effort is being made by everyone and there are many people who do not know what the ministers are doing in their ministries, and the people have the right to know what progress is being made in the ministries and official institutions.
