MP Salim Aoun considered that resolving the electricity issue is not a retreat from Energy Minister Joe Seddi, noting that this position did not please the Lebanese as long as the result was not securing electricity. He said in a radio interview, "The example of someone who dug a hole for his brother fell into it applies to them. They spent 12 years digging this file for us. But we saw today when they received it how we have gone backwards, especially since there are factories that have stopped working." Aoun stressed that they, as the opposition, are dealing positively, pointing out that they are putting in the minister’s hands the plans and mistakes that occurred so that they are not repeated, because securing electricity will not only include those belonging to the Lebanese Forces, adding that “problems between each other will not provide solutions and will not satisfy anyone.” As for the file of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, he pointed out that “the course that matters took in the framework agreement shows that we will not be able to accomplish anything for Lebanon or achieve any demand,” stressing that “there is no way but negotiations, but they must achieve Lebanon’s rights.”
