The Syrian presidential advisor for media affairs, Ahmed Muwafaq Zaidan, denied the circulating reports about sending Syrian forces to Yemen as “false and baseless.”
The Syrian Ministry of Information confirmed that Damascus's priority at the current stage is to rebuild the country and strengthen its institutions, not to open new fronts.
Axios had previously reported that Syria was considering sending between 10,000 and 20,000 soldiers to Yemen to support government forces in confronting the Houthis.
