US Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed that Washington wants concrete steps from Tehran before reaching an agreement to end the war that has been ongoing between the two countries for more than seven months, stressing the need for Iran to reduce its capabilities to enrich uranium “substantially.” Vance pointed out that "any potential agreement must include an actual reduction in Iran's enrichment capabilities, and not just pledges regarding its future nuclear program." He added: "If you don't want a nuclear weapon, why do you need 60 percent enriched fuel? If you want to show a commitment to not making a nuclear weapon, don't make highly enriched fuel." Vance stressed that Washington is still open to reaching an agreement with Iran.
