MP Michel Moawad affirmed, after his meeting with President Joseph Aoun, that the establishment of the state begins with confiscating weapons and extending its sovereignty over its entire territory, noting that Hezbollah’s insistence on not handing over its weapons is being paid by all Lebanese, from attacks, destruction and displacement in the south to the continuing decline in the standard of living and services. Moawad stressed that negotiation constitutes a path to protect the Lebanese and put an end to the war and occupation,  pointing out that its success requires a unified Lebanese decision and confining the decision of war and peace to the state, allowing the restoration of the occupied territories and the transition to peace, stability and prosperity.
