The General Directorate of State Security announced that, in memory of the 13 martyrs of the General Directorate of State Security who rose during the Israeli aggression against Nabatieh on April 10, 2026, and in commemoration of their sacrifices for the sake of the homeland, the name “State Security Martyrs’ Brigades” was given to the Nabatieh Government Brigades, under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, who unveiled the memorial plaque bearing the name of the martyrs, in the presence of the Deputy Director General of State Security, Brigadier General Murshid. Haj Suleiman, a number of ministers, official, security and military figures, local activists, and the families of the martyrs. The Directorate confirmed that this naming “comes in tribute to those who gave their lives while performing their national duty, and to commemorate their names and their sacrifices in the memory of the institution and the nation,” renewing its pledge to continue the path of duty and protect the nation and the citizen.
