The US Treasury Department announced sanctions on three individuals and two charitable organizations based in France, which it said were part of a network that raised more than two million dollars for the Palestinian Hamas movement.
She noted in a statement, “These classifications reveal a sophisticated, years-long financing structure that transferred more than $2 million to Hamas through misleading charitable fronts and cryptocurrency channels, demonstrating the organization’s continued ability to adapt its fundraising mechanisms to avoid detection.”
