Reuters quoted six informed sources as saying that representatives of the Syrian government and Lebanese Hezbollah held direct and secret talks in Türkiye last month, in an attempt to calm tensions between the two sides. The sources indicated that the meeting was the first known of its kind between the two parties, noting that at least one meeting was held during September, at the invitation of the Turkish security and intelligence services. According to the sources, the meeting included representatives of Hezbollah and officials from the Syrian intelligence and Foreign Ministry.
