The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, received the Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, who informed him of his participation in the Arab Media Summit in Dubai and the meetings he held during it, and discussed with him media affairs, especially the implementation of the new media law and the Radio Lebanon modernization workshop that had begun work. President Aoun also received the Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Mansi, and discussed with him the security situation in the country in general, and in the south in particular, in light of the continuing Israeli attacks. The research also touched on the conditions and needs of the military institution. Later, President Aoun received the Jordanian Minister of Tourism, Imad Al-Hijazin, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Laura Al-Khazen Lahoud, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Abdel-Rahman Jafal Al-Hadid. Al-Hejazin informed the President of the Republic of the ongoing preparations in Jordan to celebrate the 2000th anniversary of the baptism of Christ in the Jordan River, under the slogan “Jordan is the dawn of Christianity.” The research discussed Lebanon’s participation in these celebrations as a “land of holiness,” and the organization of joint activities for the occasion. President Joseph Aoun also received the former US ambassador to Lebanon, Ryan Crocker, accompanied by a delegation from the American Middle East Broadcasting Network (MBN), which included the network’s CEO, Jeffrey Gidmin, and its editor-in-chief, Laila Bazzi. President Aoun presented with the delegation Lebanon's position on local and regional developments, especially the situation in the south and the course of the framework agreement that Lebanon signed with Israel under American sponsorship, and Israel's lack of commitment to implementing its provisions.
