On Wednesday morning, Israeli media reported that a security incident occurred on board a Flydubai plane, which was heading from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which prompted it to change its course.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the plane circled over Jordanian airspace, before heading towards Saudi airspace, after activating an emergency code and broadcasting a distress call, while the details of the accident remained under examination.
At the beginning of the incident, Israeli media reported fears that the plane might have been subjected to a hijacking attempt, and indicated that Israeli warplanes were taking off towards it.
However, subsequent Israeli estimates ruled out the kidnapping hypothesis, as Israeli media reported that the current estimate indicates that a quarrel occurred on board the plane, which led to a distress call.
The same media confirmed that the assessment in Israel now suggests that what happened was not a kidnapping.
Meanwhile, the “Flight Radar” website reported that the “Fly Dubai” plane landed at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, after changing its course.
Israeli media also reported that the Prime Minister and Defense Minister held an emergency consultative meeting with senior officials in the security services against the backdrop of the plane accident.
