The Ministry of Finance announced the agreement to open a provision in the 2026 budget to pay 12 million liras per month to eligible public drivers, for the period from October 1 to December 31, as a first stage. To benefit, it is required to adhere to the official tariff issued by the Ministry of Works, provided that violating the tariff leads to the driver being deprived of his dues. It was also agreed to establish a mechanism for paying compensation by a joint decision between the Ministries of Finance and Works, and to prepare a draft law to modernize public transportation vehicles through tax and customs exemptions.
